TITLE: Comparisons of mescal bean alkaloids with mescaline, Delta9-THC and other psychotogens.

ABSTRACT: In expts. on rats, behavioral patterns (gross locomotor activity, locomotor activity patterns, locomotor skill, conditioned avoidance response) in response to the 3 major alkaloids of the Texas mountain laurel (Sophora secundiflora),cytisine-HCl, sparteine-HCl, and N-methylcytisine-HCl more closely resembled those patterns produced by known hallucinogens mescaline-HCl, N,N-dimethyltryptamine, and psilocybin than those produced by the known depressants and stimulants DELTA9-THC.
