Oakland's police chief is making some dire claims about what his force will and will not respond to if layoffs go as planned.
Chief Anthony Batts listed exactly 44 situations that his officers will no longer respond to and they include grand theft, burglary, car wrecks, identity theft and vandalism. He says if you live and Oakland and one of the above happens to you, you need to let police know on-line

Once again the police can't wait to get in there and shoot at something.
Animal control was already called but the sociopaths got there first.

"We represent the 645 police officers who work hard every day to protect the citizens of Oakland. We, too, are the 99%..."

What a bunch of whiny dickholes. If they disagree with the mayor's orders then they should use a little discretion (something many police officers lack these days) and participate in some civil-disobedience. Are they worried that one of their comrades may shoot them in the face?

It’s becoming way too commonplace. Last week, a pet Newfoundland in Des Moines, Wash., was shot four times — yes, four times — by a police officer who had tried and failed to wrangle the 115-pound dog, who had gotten out of her yard. Her name was Rosie. She was 2. She joins Gloria, the arthritic, 11-year-old yellow Lab police shot to death in her own backyard last month in Oakland, Calif.

There were 500 riot police, 17 law enforcement agencies and 75 arrests in the raid of Occupy Oakland on October 25th. There were 200 police, 12 agencies and 32 arrests today. Oakland PD is losing ground.

"This footage is proof that Scott Olsen was shot in the face by police without provocation during the Occupy Oakland march on Tuesday October 25. The moment leading up to the shooting, Olsen was standing completely still. He was then hit in the head with a tear gas canister, which is potentially fatal."

That tiger went tiger!” Well the Oakland Police department went State. 500 paid thugs (i.e. officers and sheriff’s deputies) from over 12 agencies assisted the OPD in a pre-dawn raid of OccupyOakland, evicting campers from the newly named Oscar Grant Plaza in front of Oakland city hall. Riot police clad in gas masks used rubber bullets, bean bag rounds, flash grenades, tear gas canisters and an LRAD sonic cannon against non-violent peaceful protesters.
