An appellate court has rejected arguments that the pledge of allegiance violates the wall of separation between church and state. Judge Bea said schools do not require students to recite the pledge. When I was 10 I was given detention for asking what the words actually meant and refusing to stand until I understood. Even without this phrase "under God" the pledge is designed to inculcate the most nefarious form of idolatry, the worship of an omnipotent, omniscient omnibenevolent government.

Mississippi has instituted a series of unreasonable regulations for doctors who perform abortions. Using a practice very similar to the kind of bottlenecking that was done to suppress black votes during the Jim Crow era, Mississippi has systematically squeezed the number of abortion clinics in the state down to just one. If a federal court ultimately finds its new regulations constitutional, that one will be gone too. (Wednesday, a federal judge extended his temporary order to let the clinic stay open).

Judge ordered more than a dozen criminal defendants who were late to court Wednesday morning to enter a guilty plea or spend the night in jail.

Municipal Court Judge Mark Mihok charged Durrell Brooks with contempt of court Thursday and gave him three days in jail. Mihok said he saw that Brooks’ pants were down and he could see his underwear.

"I don't have a dress code," Mihok said. "People can wear really whatever they want, but they have to cover up. I can't accept people showing their underwear in a courtroom."

Brooks was the third person in a month to be sent to jail by Mihok for sagging. He said one man's pants were so low that they weren't even touching the seat when he sat down.

"Michael Green has spent the last 27 years in prison after being convicted on a rape charge. Green's conviction was overturned and a judge ordered that he be released from prison. That was supposed to happen on Thursday morning. For now, he's still in the Harris County Jail. After the family waited for the hearing to begin, they were told they'll have to wait another day. The reason was because Green was too emotional about being released.

On entering the court, I claimed common law jurisdiction... as is my right. The demeanour of the judge changed. In a common law court the judge has to be impartial and consider all the evidence submitted by both parties... in the European system the judge cherry picks. I asked the judge if he was acting under his oath of office (confirming it as a common law court)...
