The New York Civil Liberties Union today filed a lawsuit challenging a government regulation that unconstitutionally restricts photography on federal property, including public plazas and sidewalks.

The Federal Communications Commission took the general aviation world by surprise when it said in a recent report it will prohibit the sale or use of 121.5 MHz emergency locator transmitters, effective in August.

The FCC said its rules have been amended to "prohibit further certification, manufacture, importation, sale or use of 121.5 MHz ELTs." The FCC says that if the 121.5 units are no longer available, aircraft owners and operators will "migrate" to the newer 406.0-406.1 MHz ELTs.

The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.

Another story about the increasing illegality of photography.

A homeowner says he was arrested for "illegal photography" when a police sergeant followed him into his own home, and he objected and took the cop's photo with his cell phone. "We did not know what he was talking about, and I don't think he does either," the homeowner says in his federal complaint.

Now there is a bold proposal that directly defies the federal government by nullifying federal firearms laws. State nullification of federal law is the legal theory that individual US states have the right to invalidate any federal law that the state finds unconstitutional.

Government agencies may be creeping on their own employees by demanding usernames and passwords to social networking sites such as Facebook. Interestingly, this violates Facebook's own terms of service, as Facebook "prohibit(s) anyone from soliciting the login information or accessing an account belonging to someone else" In this writer's opinion, these government agencies would seem to be also violating the federal governments own proposed laws that would prohibit anybody from misrepresenting themselves on the internet.
