Police sources tell 7 Action News that a women's basketball coach from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School shot two men who attacked him as he was walking two basketball players to their cars in the school parking lot.

High School football kicker is kicked off team (no pun intended) by coach, for wearing pink shoes during breast cancer awareness month. This is after other players wore pink items, with no consequences. He is now suing school and all monetary awards being donated to the American Cancer Society.

Eric Dompierre loves sports, especially basketball. Eric never let his Down Syndrome stop him from playing but now he may have to cheer on his team from the bleachers. Its a battle between Eric's family and the Michigan High School Athletic Association with the latter claiming that because he's 19 years old, Eric isn't allowed to play in his senior year of high school.

A retired physician is leading a push to ban football at a high school in Dover, New Hampshire. Dr. Paul Butler is on the school board and says the sport puts players at risk of brain damage later in life. Dover High's athletic director points out that the school is part of a concussion prevention program. The school board chair and vice-chair say they will not support the proposed football ban.

A Cincinnati high school is paying its students to come to school.

The Dohn Community High School has launched a $40,000 incentive program to get students to come to class.

The school’s CEO Ken Furrier told CBS Cleveland that students will get Visa gift cards for showing up every day for school, being on time for class and not getting into trouble. Seniors would get $25 while underclassmen would get $10.

Though I can see why the mother would be concerned, I am unable to support new legislation that would allow a girl to play on a high school football team but not allow a boy to play on high school field hockey team.
