Eighth-grader sells marijuana packed brownies to classmates

It turned out not to be your typical brownie sale at one New York City middle school, as a student placed an interesting ingredient in treats prepared for her classmates.

According to The New York Daily News, an eighth-grade girl sold brownies containing marijuana out of her bookbag at Intermediate School 208 in Queens during lunch time.

Beef jerky, Rice Krispie treats and four varieties of Mazzio's pizza are a few of the à la carte choices in the lunchroom at Jenks High School outside Tulsa, Okla., where football is king and the players have royal appetites. But those items, plus the one-pint cartons of whole chocolate milk beloved by many players — average weight on the offensive line is 250 lb. — could be gone now that the federal government has issued new restrictions on fat and sodium offered during the school day.

Last week, Casey Fountain’s third grade son had a birthday party at school. His wife whipped up 30 cupcakes for the boy’s classmates. She topped the treats with plastic army guys. “And shortly after my wife delivered the cupcakes to the school she got a phone call from his teacher that said that the army men had to be removed, because they had guns.” Fountain says the principal called him personally and told him that dressing the cupcakes with soldiers was insensitive considering recent gun related tragedies, referring to the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut.
