Daily News @ http://RevolutionNews.US ~ OAKLAND, Calif. -- KTVU News - An Oakland family was still waiting to get their dog's remains back from police Thursday night, two days after an officer shot the animal in their own back yard and left behind only a note.

A Des Moines police officer responding to reports of a man with a gun at the KCCI-TV studios mistakenly fired a shot at a KCCI news photographer who was trying to point out the suspect. The shot missed the photographer and no one was hurt.

Police decide to shot a man 6 times because he had a bat, and came at them. I guess tasers don't exist in Phoenix.

The shooting occurred just a few months after Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts called for a review of police procedures after the controversial videotaped police shooting of a young deer that was cornered in an East Oakland backyard. Officers in that case fired six rounds.

"This footage is proof that Scott Olsen was shot in the face by police without provocation during the Occupy Oakland march on Tuesday October 25. The moment leading up to the shooting, Olsen was standing completely still. He was then hit in the head with a tear gas canister, which is potentially fatal."

Officer A.J. Givens said he saw something metallic at Henley's waistband as Henley was reaching for that area, so police gave more commands for him to stop. When he didn't stop, Givens fired eight times, police said.Henley was shot in the lower back and was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in critical but stable condition. Police said they did not find a gun but did find drugs on Henley.

An eyewitness to a fatal police shooting in Culpeper, Virginia is contradicting the State Police version of the story.

The boy had no weapon in his hand, his hands were in the air when he got shot 8 times.

A police spokesperson said the weapon turned out to be a BB-gun, but added that police acted appropriately because toy guns are often indistinguishable from a real weapon

The recent trial of the BART police officer Johannes Mehserle who shot and killed Oscar Grant has left many wondering if justice was served. A good question to ask may be what would have happened if the tables were turned. What if a young black man had accidentally shot and killed a police officer?
