It was a great honor to be allowed to address the liberty minded activists at Fedstock II in Philadelphia, PA. On April 23, 2011 we again hit the streets to educate everyone of the dangers of central banking. A big thanks to the organizers, the other speakers, and participants.

The title of the speech is "The Fed and the Empowerment of the War Machine". It is based on an article I wrote entitled "Martin Luther King and the Empowerment of the War Machine: A Libertarian’s View (video)".

The civil right achievements of Martin Luther King are quite justly the focus of the annual birthday commemoration of his legacy. But it is remarkable, as I've noted before on this holiday, how completely his vehement anti-war advocacy is ignored when commemorating his life (just as his economic views are). By King's own description, his work against US violence and militarism, not only in Vietnam but generally, was central - indispensable - to his worldview and activism, yet it has been almost completely erased from how he is remembered.

King of Prussia, PA – Focus on Peace held its first action the "Sign Wave for Peace on the Anniversary of the Invasion of Iraq" on Saturday, March 19, 2011. It was a success with five peace lovers coming out to mark the 8th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. We stood on a very busy street corner in King of Prussia, PA. Our message seemed well received there compared to other places I've done this kind of peace advocacy at. There were many "honks for peace" and few insults.

The Brandywine Peace Community held a protest on November 27, 2010 at the defense contractor, Lockheed Martin, property in King of Prussia, PA, outside of Philadelphia. About ten protesters attended.

This libertarian had some good conversations with the other protesters who were of varying left wing ideologies. They were quite open to the idea of working with libertarians and anti-war conservatives for peace.

The wars abroad are less popular than ever. Now is the time to give people that are not on the left in their thinking a place to go to engage in activism for peace. Hopefully, Focus on Peace will fulfill that vital role.
