Prosecutors are arguably the most powerful figures in the American criminal justice system, a system that is not equipped or willing to punish their crimes..
according to attorneys and criminal justice reform advocates, prosecutors across the country are misbehaving -- and getting away with it. While the most common forms of prosecutorial misconduct are hiding exculpatory evidence and engaging in improper examination and argumentation, another form of intentional misconduct is the knowing use of false testimony to win convictions.

New research shows how people who were apparently uninvolved in a crime could provide such a detailed account of what occurred, allowing prosecutors to claim that only the defendant could have committed the crime.

Local police department in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. creates their own "Most Wanted" list, posting the pictures and accused crimes on the internet. All of these people are to be considered "dangerous" despite being accused of nonviolent crimes and oh yeah...being innocent until proven guilty! To make matters worse, the local Patch (online newspaper/community bulletin board and project of Huff Post) _re-posts_ the names, photos, and warrant information of these people to the community.

Seattle police were caught on dash cam telling a pair of innocent robbery suspects that they would "make stuff up" to ensure the charges would stick, even though there was a complete lack of actual evidence.

That incident is just small sample of what KOMO-TV plans to eventually release after a lengthy investigation compiled from dash cam videos of its local police force, which always seems one of the most corrupted in the country.

Police and D.A. ignore leads, and withhold evidence, sending an innocent man to prison for 25 years.

Federal prosecutors are supposed to seek justice, not merely score convictions. But a USA TODAY investigation found that prosecutors repeatedly have violated that duty in courtrooms across the nation. The abuses have put innocent people in prison, set guilty people free and cost taxpayers millions of dollars in legal fees and sanctions.

" Another fallacy in the idea of using more police to stop crime involves the problem of recognition. Criminals do not wear sweat-shirts with “Bad Guy” printed on them to enable policemen to single them out. One way police try to find robbers and murderers is to stop and question ordinary people who have done nothing wrong. Increasing the number of policemen therefore means an increase in the number of innocent people who will be harassed and intimidated by officers."

LAPD Police are told to arrest anyone, even innocent people, just as long as they meet their "quotas".

Welcome to the police state....

For all the talk of government incompetence, the GOP sure trust the nanny state to put convicted criminals to death. Let's not consider all the people that have been exonerated due to DNA evidence or anything.
