Justice delayed is justice denied: Attorney General Eric Holder says that the U.S. needs to examine whether the current rules regarding Miranda warnings give law enforcement agents the “necessary flexibility” when dealing with terrorism cases, suggesting that regulators consider a longer delay before American citizens must be read their rights. “If we are going to have a system that is capable of dealing, in a public safety context, with this new threat, I think we have to give serious consideration to at least modifying that public safety exception.”

If a person commits suicide, and they felt pushed to do so, does that make the person or persons that pushed them, or harassed them, an accomplice; and should they be held accountable as accomplices? Perhaps this is a topic that can be opened for discussion on the show? How many people have committed suicide due to similar circumstances, that the general public is not even aware of? Perhaps, their names can be added here, under "comments" so they can be remembered? Can people be bullied to death?

The local government wants to know who is requesting public documents. This is most likely the real reason. It received four public information requests anonymously last fall.

A police officer who wrote a $2,500 ticket to a mother on a public urination complaint against her 3-year-old son has been fired, City Manager Jim Crosby said Tuesday. Crosby said he fired officer Ken Qualls on Friday, following a hearing Nov. 14.
Prosecutors at the Canadian County district attorney's office declined to pursue the case against the mother, Crosby said.

British officials have reportedly moved against 12-year-old Nicky Wishart, threatening him with arrest for threatening the public peace. Nicky’s crime was to complain on Facebook about an upcoming plan to close his local youth centre, because “it’s a fantastic place to go and there isn’t much else for us to do round here,” and a plan to protest in front of his local MP’s office, which in this case is Prime Minister David Cameron’s office, sparked harsh police action.

Victims of crime in England and Wales should be able to track their case online from the moment it is reported to the point when justice is served, a thinktank has said.

Wrong on several levels, it is humiliating, and it was organized by Rosemount High School administrators. And, yes, it took place in view of the children at the school, because it was during an assembly. The students were blindfolded, and then told that “someone” was going to kiss them. The “someone” was their own parents.
What is it with public (read: GOVERNMENT) schools lately? Are they trying to screw up our kids?
