A central Florida elementary school principal has been arrested on drug charges after a sting operation, authorities said Saturday. David Groover, 43, was arrested Friday after deputies searched his St. Cloud, Florida home, uncovering methamphetamine, marijuana, GHB and drug paraphernalia, according to an Osceola County Sheriff's office statement.

Police contacted the State Law Enforcement Division’s newly formed Joint Enforcement Team (JET) that targets drug organizations and violent crime activities across the state. The team confirmed the grow facility and, along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, investigated and seized lab equipment and large quantities of mushrooms in various growth stages.

Federal authorities have arrested a New York Police Department officer on charges he helped a crew of bandits rob drug dealers.

Prosecutors in Brooklyn alleged Thursday that Emmanuel Tavarez supplied the crew with NYPD raid jackets, bulletproof vests, handcuffs and badges so they could impersonate police officers during staged raids on drug dens in Queens and elsewhere.

They say he also acted as a lookout during armed holdups that netted hundreds of kilograms of cocaine.

These two members of California's "finest" are accused of opening a brothel and keeping it well-supplied with drugs from the evidence locker, even as they routinely shut down brothels on behalf of the police.
