A military veteran returned home after six years to witness the "freedom" he was protecting when he got on a bus near Los Angeles. He witnessed (and recorded) an encounter between police and a mentally handicapped resident wherein the police verbally abused the lady before one of the officers punched her in the face. After the incident, police then attempted to confiscate the video, but the veteran successfully stood his ground. Of course no investigation has begun into this abuse of police power.

In June, the New Orleans Police Department received a federal grant that provides overtime pay to officers who help enforce seatbelt laws. Police salaries being what they are, the grant drew the attention of many officers, including one Glenn Gross.

When Pompton Lakes police seized Darren Richardson’s car on a rainy September afternoon, they told him it was headed for an impound lot. When they returned it three weeks later, he says, the 2004 BMW belonged in a junk yard. According to police reports, the damage to the black BMW 325i came in the aftermath of a traffic stop during which officers detected a "strong odor of raw marijuana" inside the vehicle. Searching for a cache of drugs, members of three different police agencies and a detective from a federal drug task force spent two days tearing the car apart, the reports said.

NEW YORK – The New York Police Department is investigating why it took more than eight hours for a police officer suspected of drunken driving to be given a blood-alcohol test. Rafael Casiano crashed his car at about 4:30 a.m. Friday in the Bronx while off duty. Another officer riding with him with was hospitalized with a head injury.

From Fox 13 in Tampa comes the horrifying story of Nick Christie, a 62-year-old Ohio man who was detained by the Lee County Sheriff's Office for being publicly intoxicated. A woman who was pepper sprayed during during a raid on Occupy Seattle last week is blaming police after she miscarried Sunday.Jennifer Fox, 19, told The Stranger that she had been with the Occupy protests since they started in Westlake Park. She said she was homeless and three months pregnant, but felt the need to join activists during their march last Tuesday.

Title says all. During peacefully Occupy Movement, police came in to tear down tents and proceeded to arrest students who stood in their way. Once students peacefully demanded the release of the arrested, a police officer unnecessarily pepper sprays the students to open a path for the rest of the officers
