A local middle school student held open a door at school, reportedly because someone had their hands full. But after that, the student was suspended.
All schools in Southampton County have tight security at the front door, and students are told not to open the door for anyone. But Superintendent Charles Turner tells NewsChannel 3 that the rule was disobeyed when the student opened the door for the woman with her hands full.

The Detroit News says the financial restructuring plan will increase high school class sizes to 60 students and consolidate operations. K-12 parents would be assessed, but only Kindergarten through 3rd grade would receive a satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or needs improvement grade.
Court has become a deterrent instead of detention for some North Texas students.
The social and economic group Texas Appleseed collected five years worth of data from 22 districts across the state and found young students, including a six year old in Dallas, who received class C misdemeanor tickets for things like disrupting class, leaving school early and school yard brawls that didn’t include weapons.

TROPHY CLUB, Texas - Administrators at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club suspended a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday because his eyes were bloodshot and they thought he might have been smoking marijuana.
