Public Buses That Listen To Passengers' Conversations

The Daily had an interesting report this week — picked up by Wired — about “government officials quietly installing sophisticated audio surveillance systems on public buses across the country to eavesdrop on passengers.” I know what you’re thinking: “Woo! More epic bus fight scenes that come with audio.”

Recently, Obama’s been quoted as saying “No country on Earth would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders,” yet, this comes from a man who…you know… regularly authorizes the raining down of drone bombs onto citizens in Yemen and Pakistan. This is not ‘The Onion’, people, this is ‘Reality Check’ with Ben Swann.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and the entire government resigned Monday in a surprise move after controversial elections as the economy teeters on the brink of recession. The presidency said President Viktor Yanukovych had accepted Azarov's request to give up his post and become an MP, a move expected to be repeated by several cabinet ministers. It remained unclear who would fill the powerful post of premier, with some analysts speculating it could go to a member of the elite close to Yanukovych known as the "Family".

Protests are expected in dozens of cities today as part of an effort to call attention to the harsh conditions faced by accused U.S. Army whistleblower Bradley Manning. Manning is expected to testify about conditions during his imprisonment at the Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Virginia, as part of a pre-trial hearing today at Fort Meade, Maryland. The testimony will be Manning’s first public comments since his arrest more than two year ago.

The US Senate voted 90-1 early Saturday on a non-binding resolution to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Voting against the resolution was Sen. Rand Paul, arguing that the bill was a de-facto declaration of war.

With all the clammer among the GOP about "WHY?" Instead of reneging on Obamacare perhaps they should look to the lunatics among their own controlling the direction of the party.
