Simple Difference

http://1787network.com

When a libertarian hears something on the radio he doesn’t like, say an NPR Editorial or a Strasburg Waltz, he turns the channel; exercising free will and choosing not to listen to what they want without infringing on other peoples free choice to listen. When a Liberal rears something on the radio he doesn’t like, say a Rush Editorial or a Lee Greenwood moldy oldy they try to create a law like the “Fairness Doctrine” or take some other actions so that nobody has the choice to listen to what liberals don’t want to hear.

A little hope is effective - Hunger Games

http://obitur-dictum.blogspot.com

The ancient Romans made their circenses a centerpiece of public policy, along with free bread (panem -- also the name of the nation ruled by the "Capitol" in the movie). But they found that the spectacle of merely feeding people to lions, with no chance to win, became less popular than the gladiatorial contests, and that the gladiators wouldn't put on a good show unless they had a chance.

Occupy Wall Street is an Important Movement That .......

http://www.nextppl.com

"Today there is a feeling of deep poison running through the ideological veins of this nation. The ghettos of cable news have shown us, by 24-hour assault, what becomes of discourse when the conscientious majority becomes its target. Now is the time to reign in this malevolent power. For in the future, blunt intimidation will become its preferred faculty, and Americans will be forced to stand against tanks in the same way a man, tired and wanting for rest, stood against Chinese tanks in 1989."

Scientists Discover Tipping Point for the Spread of Ideas

http://news.rpi.edu

Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society. The scientists, who are members of the Social Cognitive Networks Academic Research Center (SCNARC) at Rensselaer, used computational and analytical methods to discover the tipping point where a minority belief becomes the majority opinion. The finding has implications for the study and influence of societal interactions ranging from the spread of innovations to the movement of political ideals.

New York Is The Least Free State, Study Finds (VIDEO)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com

New York isn't North Korea, but it's the closest thing you'll find in the U.S. -- at least according to a new report from a libertarian think tank.

A Mercatus Center study has pegged New York as the country's "least free" state, 49 slots behind "Live Free or Die" New Hampshire. Its authors gave the state particular abuse for its taxes, "by far the highest" in the country, according to their methodology.

True to their libertarian ways, however, they also said that New York would have scored higher if it had legalized gay marriage.

Zeitgeist Movement: Transition

http://www.examiner.com

In the film it is imagined that an identical unpopulated Earth is discovered. Well... there isn’t an identical Earth, so the transition is an important part of the puzzle, especially if you consider the tragic consequences of every historical attempt to abolish private property.

Peter Joseph imagines a massive revolution where the hidden masters in their smokey rooms realize the jig is up... and he skips straight to children siting in a high tech history class. That’s not really good enough.

Jacque Fresco has a more detailed plan.

The Heart of Our Politics

http://brainspew.com

All this time, I really thought citizens were victims, held against their will and robbed, by a government that is thriving at their expense. This is, of course, true; but, there’s something I realized. People really aren’t sheep. The citizens aren’t innocent little lambs being fed to the machine. The vast majority of people simply abrogate the responsibility of their lives willingly.
