Davi Barker, known as The Muslim Agorist, is a prolific writer with a passion for philosophy, economics, history and theology. Dudeism has sometimes been referred to as a "mock religion",[1][2] though its founder and many adherents regard it as "real."[3][4]. Its stated primary objective is to promote a philosophy and lifestyle consistent with the original form of Chinese Taoism, outlined in Tao and Laozi (6th century BC), blended with concepts by the Ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BC), and personified by the modern day character "The Dude" (Jeff Bridges) in the Coen Brothers' 1998 film The Big Lebowski.[5]

Fanatical atheism is no worse and no better than fanatical religion, though it may be more bitterly ironic. There is something pretty odd, dare I say hypocritical, about a bunch of people who call themselves “freethinkers” and “humanists” not only verbally abusing people of faith, but actually tearing up verses from the Bible as an act of protest, as they did on a pier in Huntington Beach, California Saturday morning. It doesn’t sound terribly humane to me, and I am quite sure that destroying texts, however much one may object to them, is the opposite of free thought.
