The mother of a 19-year-old man fatally shot in the back by a U.S. Border Patrol agent has sued the federal government and the agent himself, claiming it was "an appalling use of excessive force" because her son was unarmed, had his back to the agent and posed no threat.

A local family says a language barrier may have resulted in police using a Taser on a woman after she tried to buy too many iPhones at a local mall. Police, however, say the incident isn't that clear cut. Xiaojie Li, of Newton, said she is embarrassed by Monday's Pheasant Lane Mall in New Hampshire incident.

The neighbor said they called police twice at 2:40 and 3:10 a.m. When officers did arrive, the neighbor said she saw an officer “looking in the window” of Loretta Parea’s home “then walked away.”

Members of the state’s 150-man elite police force have been trying to get to the bottom of who’s behind parody Twitter accounts lampooning city council members. The mock tweeters include one councilman’s moustache. Another from the handle Laughable Loll cracked, “I shined my head extra special for tonight so the camera would reflect off of it.” Not laughing is the local prosecutor. He says the tweets may run afoul of harassment laws and asked the Rangers to investigate.

New Hampshire has more than 60 law enforcement officers with credibility issues so serious they could jeopardize their ability to testify at trials, but the process tracking them is so secretive it is virtually impossible to identify them or even say for sure exactly how many there are.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office was justified in shooting Andrew Lee Scott, the state attorney's office said Tuesday. Scott died in July after deputies opened fire when the 26-year-old answered a knock on his door in the middle of the night with a gun in his hand.

Just one more reason NEVER to call the cops to your house! Also, one more reason to hope that they never show up, wanting to talk to you. If the cops come to your home, your dog is dead...
