In late 2011, I lost a traffic court case against a dishonest and corrupt female officer. If I had a dash video system installed, I would have easily won this case and scored a victory against police corruption. I have chosen the freedomcam and plan to install it soon...Read more »

Why Smoking Pot Makes Me a Better Mom
Anybody who thinks that weed makes parents ignore their children has clearly never been high around one.

The following story first appeared on Jezebel.
I wanted to get my husband to watch our daughter so I could get stoned and pound out this essay about being a mom who smokes pot. But when I steppedRead more »

Democrats vow to push for gun control measures in U.S. Congress

In autumn 2001, America’s initial purpose in Afghanistan—which made perfect sense—was to destroy or incapacitate al Qaeda and punish the Taliban government that hosted it. This was accomplished 11 years ago. Today, the purpose of the U.S. mission is ill-defined, but clearly involves nation building. What the coalition desperately needs is an achievable, realistic endgame, not an indefinite timeline that commits thousands of U.S. troops to Afghanistan until or beyond 2024.Read more »
Like some cancer patients in states where it’s allowed, Mykayla Comstock uses cannabis as part of her treatment. Comstock is seven-years old. Her mother, a long time advocate for medical use of the illegal drug, has been giving her a gram of oral cannabis oil every day. Despite the fact that medical marijuana is legal in Oregon, where Comstock lives, the idea of giving it to a child still gives pause to many adults who associate the drug with recreational use that breaks the law.Read more »
thedotwatchdog.com looks like a very handy web site for truckers who want to know were D.O.T. is. DOT (Department of Transportation) a.k.a. truck police, are the armed tax collectors who specifically harass tuckers, landscapers and basically any one who may drive in a "commercial looking truck". I avoid DOT when ever I can, because even if everything goes well it is going to be an hour or 2 with the truck inspection.Read more »

Radley Balko: So last night’s season premiere of The Good Wife was almost a word-for-word adaptation of my piece on the Terrance Huff traffic stop for Huffington Post from earlier this year. Everything from the setting (Madison County, Illinois) to the falsely alerting drug dog, the bad cop, the illegal traffic stop, the illegal search, the forfeiture corridor, it was all in there. They even threw in a little twist about recording cops in Illinois. They also mentioned Huff’s video, “Breakfast in Collinsville.”Read more »

Washington state flower growers balk as U.S. government helps Columbia take over market. MOUNT VERNON - As she took a break from picking dahlias, zinnias and amaranths on her Jello Mold Farm, Diane Szukovathy wondered why, in her opinion, the federal government is working so hard to put other flower growers and her out of business by helping competitors thousands of miles away in the temperate regions of Colombia.Read more »
