$7M Gold found in dead man's home; Gov't takes $750K

Walter Samaszko Jr, 69, died at his home in Carson City, Nev., with $200 in a bank account, but as officials later discovered, he had about $7 million stored neatly around his home. According to the coroner, Samaszko had been dead for at least a month, dying of heart problems. Cleanup crews found boxes of gold in the garage, at which point, "we took the house apart,” said Carson City clerk-recorder Alan Glover. As for who can lay claim to the riches -- Glover said the IRS will take $750,000 -- and that the rest will likely go to a first cousin.

Connecticut town threatens to take overgrown pet bunny from girl, 7

Florida Teen Charged With Felony After Science Experiment Goes Bad

At 7 a.m. on Monday, the 16 year-old mixed some common household chemicals in a small 8 oz water bottle on the grounds of Bartow High School in Bartow, Florida. The reaction caused a small explosion that caused the top to pop up and produced some smoke. No one was hurt and no damage was caused. After the explosion Wilmot was taken into custody by a school resources officer and charged with possession/discharge of a weapon on school grounds and discharging a destructive device. Minn. jury begins deliberating raw milk case

A Minnesota man accused of violating the state's raw milk laws was just the middle man in a voluntary arrangement of people sharing food, his attorney argued Wednesday.

Alvin Schlangen, an organic egg producer in central Minnesota, is charged with three misdemeanor counts including distributing unpasteurized milk, operating without a food handler's license and handling adulterated food. Minnesota law prohibits raw milk sales except directly to consumers on the farm when it's produced.
