Your right to resell your own stuff is in peril

http://www.marketwatch.com

At issue in Kirtsaeng v. John Wiley & Sons is the first-sale doctrine in copyright law, which allows you to buy and then sell things like electronics, books, artwork and furniture, as well as CDs and DVDs, without getting permission from the copyright holder of those products. Under the doctrine, which the Supreme Court has recognized since 1908, you can resell your stuff without worry because the copyright holder only had control over the first sale.

GOP Corrupt at Highest Levels - Romney Becomes GOP Candidate by Fiat

http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com

Delegates from Nevada tried to nominate Mr. Paul from the floor, submitting petitions from their own state as well as Minnesota, Maine, Iowa, Oregon, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. That should have done the trick: Rules require signatures from just five states. But the party changed the rules on the spot. Henceforth, delegates must gather petitions from eight states.

Corrupt TSA employees Steal More Than Our Freedoms and Dignity...

http://abcnews.go.com

"It was very commonplace, very," said Pythias Brown, a former TSA officer at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey who admits he stole more than $800,000 worth of items from luggage and security checkpoints over a four-year period. "It was very convenient to steal," he said. Assigned to screen luggage behind the ticket counters, Brown said he often worked alone, was told when overhead surveillance cameras to prevent theft were not working, and was never asked about suspicious behavior.

Why is the GOP Establishment so Scared of a Ron Paul Nomination?

Why is the GOP Establishment so scared of a Ron Paul nomination? Romney has it in the bag, Dr. Paul doesn't have a hope in hell. The conventional wisdom is they want to present the party 100% behind Romney. Gee, would acknowledging there was some competition for the job be that damaging? By sabotaging the Paul campaign throughout the process they exposed themselves as corrupt. If they played by the GOP rules with Ron Paul, there would be a minor contest, Romney would still have won, and most of the the Republican rank and file would fall in behind Romney.

Ron Paul Supporters: Disgusted and Disenfranchised.

http://www.freedomsphoenix.com

As a Ron Paul supporter I've been in a strange emotional place for several weeks now. I've finally determined that it probably is a case of "denial" fighting with cold, hard reality. Robert Anderson managed to into words what I and probably most other Ron Paul supporters have been feeling, but have been unable to articulate....

Obama - 'If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that."

http://www.washingtontimes.com

"If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen...You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else."

[Digg this-]

"The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet." [I always wondered why Al Gore invented the internet, now I guess I know]

Shock Treatments of Autistic Children

http://www.guardian.co.uk

Massachusetts special-needs facility is believed to be the only one in the world that uses 'aversive therapy' in treating children - The UN's special rapporteur on torture has made a formal approach to the US government over a special-needs school near Boston that inflicts electric shocks on autistic children as a form of behavioural control. Juan Mendez has told the Guardian that he has opened discussions with the US mission to the UN in Geneva as a first step towards investigating the school.

Free market gets weed to Colorado ahead of regulated market.

http://blogs.westword.com

Legislators in Colorado are still working out how to regulate recreational marijuana. Until new guidelines are announced medical dispensaries are still playing by the old rule book and only selling to those with valid registrations. While sales will be regulated, Amendment 64 clearly states that its legal for anyone 21+ to possess or gift up to an ounce (and grow 6 of their own plants) the free market has come up with an innovative 64 compliant solution.

The serial killer who killed nobody

http://www.guardian.co.uk

Sture Bergwall (a.k.a. Thomas Quick) confessed to several murders while drugged out of his mind by psychiatrists at a psychatric clinic. He was convicted of 8 murders without any technical evidence whatsoever. He was often led by interrogators to give "correct" answers about details in the murders so that he eventually got "close enough" for conviction. A sad story about the Swedish criminal justice system...

Your Taxes Build Robotic Squirrels & Menus for Mars says Waste Book

http://www.foxnews.com

What do robotic squirrels, menus for Martian meals and a musical about climate change have in common? They've all been made possible with taxpayer assistance, according to the latest survey of government waste put out by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. Known simply as the Waste Book, the report is a watchlist of eye-opening expenditures, which Coburn blames on a "let them eat caviar" attitude in Washington -- at a time when "23 million of our fellow Americans do not have good jobs," Coburn notes.

New (over) regulation requires license for "breedable" pets

http://www.washingtontimes.com

New regulations from Department of Agriculture require that Americans that own four or more “breedable” female pets that are at least four months old must obtain a federal license and be subject to federal inspections, regardless of whether or not the owner is planning on breeding any of their pets. Animal rescue shelters fear that they may also suffer, as penalties could amount to $10,000 per day per animal.
