They've all been made possible with taxpayer assistance, according to the latest survey of government waste put out by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. Known simply as the Waste Book, the report is a watchlist of eye-opening expenditures, which Coburn blames on a "let them eat caviar" attitude in Washington -- at a time when "23 million of our fellow Americans do not have good jobs," Coburn notes.

For the fifth time in less than two months, Austin police arrested a man while video recording them in public. This time it was Joshua Pineda, 26, a member of the Peaceful Streets Project, the organization that focuses on video recording police as they interact with the public. But this time, they did not confiscate his phone, which most likely was a result of Pineda exercising his right to remain silent while incarcerated.

Multiple witnesses say an officer investigating drugs grabbed Anderson from behind, hoisted him into the air and slammed him down on the pavement, leaving him unresponsive. “They even got to the point they was trying to tell him to get up and they was kicking him. He never moved,” said a witness. The official cause of death: massive internal bleeding from blunt force injuries, including a ruptured spleen and multiple fractured ribs. His family’s attorney says that justifies second-degree murder charges against the officer and a civil lawsuit.

Gov. Jerry Brown has signed legislation prohibiting a form of therapy aimed at changing a minor’s sexual orientation from gay to straight, the first law of its kind in the nation, officials said Sunday. Sen. Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) introduced the measure based on his belief that so-called conversion therapy isn't based on science and is dangerous. “This bill bans non-scientific ‘therapies’ that have driven young people to depression and suicide,'' Brown said in a statement. ``These practices have no basis in science or medicine and they will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery."

The moral and legal obligation is to the U.S. Constitution and not to those who would issue unlawful orders, especially if those orders are in direct violation of the Constitution and the UCMJ.

A Houston police officer shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair Saturday inside a group home after police say the double amputee threatened the officer and aggressively waved a metal object that turned out to be a pen.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The owner of a small beer, wine, and homebrewing supply chain says three agents from the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board raided his unopened store late Thursday afternoon and took $7,000 worth of home beer brewing supplies, including boxes of beer brewing kits, carboys, immersion chillers, and books about brewing.

A woman was at the Houston airport in August for a layover. At the gate they were "testing" everyone's liquids. She drank her water instead of letting them test it, and was not allowed to board her flight. TSA tells her that she was kicked off her flight not because she was a threat, but because of her "attitude."

Government employees are tired of people wrecking their red light cameras so they did what any good bureaucrat would. They installed cameras to watch the cameras. Seriously, I am not making this stuff up!
