Vast New Spying Program Was Started in Secret on a Bogus Pretext

http://www.aclu.org

The Wall Street Journal today published an in-depth review of a new, relatively unknown program run by the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). Although we have been warning about the dangers of the program for months, and I testified before Congress about the issue in July, the Journal’s story conveys how controversial the program was even inside the government. It also describes the broad scope of new authority the government is granting itself.

Did Scientists Just Find The Gay Gene? Or An LGBT On-Off Switch?

http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com

Some scientists are claiming that homosexuality and heterosexuality may not necessarily be regulated by our genes, but regulated by other “switches” that determine how our genes “decide” whom we become. So, yes, you were born that way, and any parent who has a “problem” with their child’s non-heterosexuality has only themselves, or, rather, their biology, to blame.

"KJUGASCHAMBERS": How hackers stole Person of the Year poll

http://www.dailydot.com

Voting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year was just the beginning. Now a group of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) users have manipulated the public poll to spell a message with the first letter of each candidate's name.

The Keynesian thought patten, writ large

http://www.nytimes.com

Let’s get one thing straight: America is not facing a fiscal crisis. It is, however, still very much experiencing a job crisis. In fact, of course, it’s just the opposite: The danger is that the deficit will come down too much, too fast. And the reasons that might happen are purely political; we may be about to slash spending and raise taxes not because markets demand it, but because Republicans have been using blackmail as a bargaining strategy, and the president seems ready to call their bluff.

Online sales tax to be added to NDAA

http://dailycaller.com

Newest version of NDAA seeks to usurp the Supreme Court and impose an Internet sales tax! The Court previously ruled a retailer must have a physical presence in the state to be taxed. Bottom line... Think about it... What is the difference between mail order sales and Internet sales? Just the form the catalog takes. Just because the government doesn't like the decision, they are going to choose to ignore the Court's ruling altogether. We should ignore them in return!

Christian Union Bans Women From Speaking At Meetings

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk

A university's Christian society has banned women from speaking at events and teaching at meetings, unless they are accompanied by their husband, it has been revealed. An email sent out by president Matt Oliver to all BUCU members said: "It is ok for women to teach in any CU setting... However we understand that this is a difficult issue for some and so decided that women would not teach on their own at our weekly CU meetings, as the main speaker on our Bristol CU weekend away, or as our main speaker for mission weeks.

Survivalist "Citadel" project starts in Idaho

http://iiicitadel.blogspot.com

The purpose of the Citadel is survival. Staying alive. Making it through an expected period of social/economic/political collapse. Coming out the other side with a civil society intact. One thing we would all ask af anyone coming here is to remember why we are considering such a venture: Rightful Liberty. We want to live with neighbors who live and let live. We want to live with neighbors who will allow us to be us, without running to the Nanny State.
