A man who captured a short video of his 8-year-old neighbor tossing around swear words and posted it online says he never thought it would land him in handcuffs.

Josh Eastman said Thursday that he still was taken aback that the boy's family chose to call the police to get the clip removed from YouTube. He said he was shocked by his arrest.

Detroit -- With its handsome brick homes and trimmed lawns, Russell Woods is an unlikely setting for a revolution.

For the past three nights, however, residents from all over the city who are fed up with crime have descended upon this neighborhood in a northwest section of Detroit.

As they patrol the tree-lined streets, they're encountering residents who share their views.

"As contractions surged through her body, she could not move or change position to relieve the pain. A Cook County correctional officer repeatedly refused to remove the restraints, she said, even when a doctor objected, saying that he was unable to administer an epidural." Her crime? Missing a court date on a retail theft charge.

A QUEENSLAND magistrate has ruled that it is acceptable for people to tell police officers to "f*ck off".

Magistrate Peter Smid yesterday threw out the court case against Mundingburra man Bardon Kaitira, 28, who swore at a female officer outside the Consortium night club on December 20, last year at 2.40am, The Townsville Bulletin reports.

Constable Belinda Young gave evidence that Mr Kaitira used the swear word twice towards her after a group of officers patrolling Flinders St East poured out his girlfriend's drink.
