Man serving 2 yr prison sentence for criticizing judge

Daniel Brewington was not happy with the way that Dearborn County, Indiana, Judge James D. Humphrey handled his divorce case, during which he lost custody of his children, and he explained why at length in various strongly worded online commentaries. Largely as a result of those posts, Brewington is serving a two-year sentence at the Putnamville Correctional Facility for intimidation, attempted obstruction of justice, and perjury.

A quick note on states' rights

The problem is always the consolidation of power into the hands of a relative few. This problem is not alleviated via a representative democracy as the current system in the US clearly demonstrates.

Deaf, Disabled Senior Citizen on Bicycle Tased to Death

If, in the euphemistic police state in which we currently live, pepper-spray is a taco condiment, that would make tasing...what? A joy-buzzing compliance aid? Sure, let's call it that. Now can someone explain to me why Officer John Turner of Scotland Neck, North Carolina's police department felt the need to use a joy-buzzing compliance aid on an 61-year-old, disabled man with a hearing impairment who was riding down the street on a bicycle? Because that man is now dead.

U.S. Electrical Grid Too Crappy to Be Vulnerable to Terrorist Attack

The US government worries that terrorists could take down the country’s electrical grid just by hitting a small node in the system. But a new study reveals the grid is too unreliable for that kind of attack.

Bill Gates, Toshiba in early talks on nuclear reactor

Toshiba may team up with Bill Gates to develop small nuclear reactors. The reactors could work for about 100 years without refueling. They could be launched fairly easily by states and cities. They provide emission-free energy. You probably remember the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
