Nevada City now requires permit for homeless to sleep outside

“The goal is to start managing the homeless population within our city,” said Chief James Wickham. Wickham asked council members to pass a no-camping ordinance. “It just basically means you can’t set up a tent. You can’t live in your vehicle. You can’t live in the woods in Nevada City,” he said. That is unless you have a permit.

Food Truck Shut Down For Not Having a Permit that Doesn’t Exist

In an interview with the Buffalo News, Pete was outraged: “The way we've been treated, I can't say it's anything other than being bullied.” In addition, he actively tried to comply with all the relevant paperwork before he started selling. He called town officials to see if any permits were needed and was informed he didn’t need any. Sadly, this is the third time in less than a month that a food truck has been forced to stop vending in Amherst without a permit.

Bow-tie wearing duck raises £ for charity shut down, no permit

Together Barrie and Star the Duck collect on average £200 a day by visiting businesses around Devon and have already raised £6,500 for a local children's hospice. However the duo's fundraising days could be numbered after being told they must apply 28 days in advance for a single day's permit- restricting them to collecting just one day a month.

Retiree's rental cottage legal since 1976 deemed illegal

Milligan said the year her guest cottage was remodeled — 1975 — her neighborhood was zoned R-2, allowing duplexes. The year she bought the house — 1976 — the area was rezoned single-family residential. Her unit, she said, should at least be grandfathered in. Milligan said the complaint filed with the city came from the mother of a disgruntled tenant who lives in another part of the state. Neighbors have not complained. "I was told by Ms. Burgess I had to get a demolition permit and have it taken out."

Think Lemonade was Hard? Try Being a Kid Selling Hot Dogs in Michigan

13 year old saves up $1,200 to buy a hot dog stand to help his family out. He files all the necessary paperwork, he gets a vending permit, gets permission from the property owner on where he is to set up his stand just to be shot down by city hall.

Duszynski was told by city officials that "his cart was in violation of a Holland zoning law that protects existing food businesses downtown against competition from mobile food vendors, and he would have to cease operation immediately."

Bigfoot Hunter Fined for Lacking Proper Permit

A couple of Ranger Smiths have surely earned their pay by fining a man leading a Bigfoot expedition on Federal land, citing him for not having the proper permit. They then admitted “It’s highly unlikely that he would have gotten a permit if he applied for one. It’s not normal practice to issue them for expeditions to find Bigfoot."

"A politician in a New York suburb called police on two 13-year-old boys for selling cupcakes and other baked goods without a permit, according to a report Monday.
