Two police officers were in Haverhill District Court yesterday — not as prosecution witnesses, but as defendants in late-night fracas during which one off-duty officer Tasered the other. Lawrence Patrolman Daron Fraser was charged with domestic assault and battery and assault on a pregnant woman outside her home in Haverhill Tuesday night. Kingston NH Patrolman Joshua Wallar, who subdued Fraser with a Taser issued by his department, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

A US federal appeals court says three Seattle police officers were justified when they used a stun gun on a pregnant mother who refused to sign a traffic ticket.

Malaika Brooks was driving her son to school in 2004 when she was stopped for exceeding the speed limit.

The officers used a Taser three times when she refused to get out of her car.

A panel of judges ruled 2-1 the officers were justified in using force because Brooks could have picked her keys up off the floor, started the car and driven away.

"Police officer Tasered a man 11 times while he was having a diabetic seizure...permanently scarred [him] and caused him neurological damage that has not abated."

Yet another story of a cop abusing somebody with a tazer for absolutely no justifiable reason.

While most people are aware of police use of Taser weapons, many may be fairly shocked to learn of an alternate method used by police in Nashville, Tennessee to subdue "unruly" people. The city has a policy allowing police to inject unruly people that they encounter on the street with a strong sedative.
