Judge: Landlords must allow pot dispensaries, and FEDs can then confiscate property. Is this a backdoor way to get eminent domain? Is this "legal"? County courts offer various results, City of Oakland to go against FEDs saying to close it "would create a public safety problem by encouraging a black market for marijuana." Confusion abounds.

Cannabis smell a big deal in lawsuit, presence of cannabis not so much

Ypsilanti Township has filed a lawsuit against a man and a woman accused of pumping a strong marijuana odor from their home. According to a verified petition filed in Washtenaw County Circuit Court, the odor is so “overwhelming” that it has regularly disrupted next door neighbors’ life over the last year. The township is asking a judge to order the defendants, Deborah Klochubar and Michael Engle, to stop pumping the alleged marijuana fumes out of the home.

Mother Faces Eviction Due To Conflict With Medical Marijuana Laws

The last time Ashley Weber turned her head to look to the side, it was to watch the drunk driver who had just wrecked the truck she was a passenger in walk away from the car. He’d said he was going to take her on the ride of her life, and refused to hand over the keys to the car, let her out at her house or even buckle his seatbelt. She buckled it for him. But speeding down country roads near Wiggins ended in a rollover accident, and Weber says she knew, immediately, she had broken her neck.

MJ Legalization Poll Finds Americans Want Feds To Leave States Alone

On Thursday, Washington became the first state to officially legalize marijuana, soon to be followed by Colorado as their new laws legalizing the drug for recreational use go into effect. A survey out Friday shows what Americans want the federal government to do about the states whose drug laws clash with national laws: Leave them alone. Fifty-one percent of Americans in the new HuffPost/YouGov poll said that in the two states that have legalized marijuana use for adults, the federal government should exempt any adults following state laws from federal drug law enforcement.

Is Medical Marijuana Safe for Children?

Like some cancer patients in states where it’s allowed, Mykayla Comstock uses cannabis as part of her treatment. Comstock is seven-years old. Her mother, a long time advocate for medical use of the illegal drug, has been giving her a gram of oral cannabis oil every day. Despite the fact that medical marijuana is legal in Oregon, where Comstock lives, the idea of giving it to a child still gives pause to many adults who associate the drug with recreational use that breaks the law.

Efforts To Relax Pot Rules Gaining Momentum

Marijuana Decriminalization: Efforts To Relax Pot Rules Gaining Momentum In U.S. - Catharine Leach is married and has two boys, age 2 and 8. She has a good job with a federal contractor and smokes pot most every day. While she worries that her public support for marijuana decriminalization and legalization could cost her a job or bring the police to her door, the 30-year-old Warwick resident said she was tired of feeling like a criminal for using a drug that she said is far less harmful than the glass or wine or can of beer enjoyed by so many others after a long day's work.

Make the Roads Safer... With Weed!

8.7%: The drop in traffic fatalities in states with medical marijuana laws. Want to make the road safer? Encourage drivers to hit the bong rather than hit the bars. That is a policy prescription that few people would recommend but it is effectively the course that states which have enacted medical marijuana laws have followed, a
