Due to a bad drought that’s dried up the hydroelectric plants that supply more than two-thirds of its power, Venezuela has been suffering through its worst energy crisis in the last 50 years. President Hugo Chavez’s solution? Change all the light bulbs! Well, that might not be the only action the country is taking (they’ve also put electricity rationing into effect) but an army of Venezuelan soldiers has been given direct orders from the president to distribute thousands of Firefly energy-efficient CFL bulbs.

Texas Yanks Thomas Jefferson From Teaching Standard

A House subcommittee is set to shed new light on the problem of sexual assault in the military today, when it will hear testimony on sexual assault numbers, prevention and response as part of its ongoing investigation into the issue.

7th grader suspended after touching Aderall pill

A seventh grader who touched a prescription drug pill while at school has been suspended for a week because of her school's interpretation of their zero-tolerance drug policy.

According to officials at River Valley Middle School in Jeffersonville, Indiana, student Rachel Greer violated their drug policy simply by holding Adderall, an ADHD drug, that a fellow student offered to her and placed in her hand. Despite declining the pill and returning it to her classmate, Greer was in "posession" of a drug and broke the rules, according to a school official.
