Over the past several days, two political parties have been holding their national conventions. One party holds all conventions online, with online voting and no overhead (other than cost of getting online) for party members who wish to participate. The other party regularly holds conventions in upscale hotels and has recently adopted a mandatory fee for any party member who wishes to be a delegate. One of these parties has only been around for 6 years, the other for 40 and is proving that age does not always equal wisdom.Read more »
In early 2011 the Boston Tea Party National Committee passed a resolution supporting War Crimes trials “for every person that has violated the ‘law of war’.” The BTP added that any potential War Crimes trials should be privately funded, instead of being paid for with taxpayer money.
It seems that someone listened, because on November 23, 2011 former U.S. president George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair were found guilty of war crimes by the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal after a four day hearing in Malaysia.Read more »
The debate in Washington, D.C. over the federal debt continues as the Aug. 2 deadline for raising the “debt ceiling” approaches. Standard & Poor's has already reported that it would cut the U.S. credit rating from AAA to D, the last rung on its scale.Read more »
