A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 17% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government today has the consent of the governed. Sixty-nine percent (69%) believe the government does not have that consent. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.
The number of voters who feel the government has the consent of the governed - a foundational principle, contained in the Declaration of Independence - is down from 23% in early May and has fallen to its lowest level measured yet.Read more »
A Charleston County mother and her 14-year-old daughter were spending some quality time together one Sunday evening when the conversation turned to sex.
She asked her daughter whether she was sexually active, and the Burke High School freshman surprised her with the news that she had sex once. After a few minutes of silence, the mother told her daughter that she wanted to call the family doctor and arrange for her to go on birth control.Read more »
I've been trying to keep my politics under wraps at work because the paper where I work is quite leftist, but they found out last week just as we were getting ready to do our election endorsements. People were shocked at first, but now they are cool with it. Today they even asked me to do a blog post on what I believe and how I disagree with what we endorsed.

Two men, 28 and 29, have been detained by police in central Sweden after reaching a mutual agreement to slash each other with knives. The men were found bloodied and in a state of distress at an apartment block in Kungsör, 130 kilometres west of Stockholm, on Saturday afternoon. The pair had been sitting watching films together when they got the idea to start cutting each other up with knives, local newspaper Vestmanlands Läns Tidning (VLT) reports.
