Exporting Natural Gas

Suddenly, due to improved drilling techniques, the U.S. is overflowing with natural gas, driving down domestic prices. But foreign prices remain high, which means there is an opportunity for us to export natural gas. Unfortunately, the infrastructure does not currently exist. To transport natural gas across the ocean, you have to liquefy it first. We have the facilities to import liquefied natural gas, but not to liquefy it ourselves and export. In order to start exporting, we need to build the appropriate facilities, which requires regulatory approval from the Energy Department.

Odd-Even Gas Rationing System Coming To New York City, Long Island

What happens if you disobey? "Those with license plates ending in an odd number will be able to buy gas on odd numbered days. Those with license plates ending in an even number will be able to buy gas on even numbered days."

"Long lines of vehicles and pedestrians formed after Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the U.S. Department of Defense was opening the mobile fuel stations in New York City and on suburban Long Island.

The state Division of Military and Naval Affairs then asked the public to stay away until more fuel is released."

Salt Lake City: Mayor to outlaw idling vehicles

The evidence is shocking when viewed from the Salt Lake Valley’s canyons: A brown stew of stagnant air swallowing clean air and stealing views like a suffocating shroud. That gunky blanket, seen especially during steamy summer months and winter inversions, is nearly as visible from the valley floor. And it has persuaded Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker to fight back. He wants to outlaw vehicle idling (beyond two minutes) as a means to cleanse the air.
