The problem with these checkpoints is that they're warrantless, arbitrary searches. This goes against all standards of civilized behavior and is not tolerable in a free society. Not only are checkpoints violating our rights they're not effective. Julian Heicklen is a man I admire in a way that my mastery of the English language fails to find words for. Julian was a dedicated activist, whose focus was on fully informed juries. Julian stood near courthouses and distributed literature explaining to juries their right to nullify bad laws, and free victims of uncontrolled government. He has been arrested for this "crime" in at least 5 states, at least 11 times in Manhattan alone.Read more »
