Protesting the shameful closings of children's lemonade stands around the USA, Robert Fernandes organized Lemonade Freedom Day. Protests took place in several cities. King of Prussia, PA – Focus on Peace held its first action the "Sign Wave for Peace on the Anniversary of the Invasion of Iraq" on Saturday, March 19, 2011. It was a success with five peace lovers coming out to mark the 8th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. We stood on a very busy street corner in King of Prussia, PA. Our message seemed well received there compared to other places I've done this kind of peace advocacy at. There were many "honks for peace" and few insults.Read more »
The PA dept. of revenue recently started a "tax amnesty" program for people who "owe" PA back taxes. The advertising campaign they launched for this, with the money of the people they are attempting to extort, is, to put it mildly, super creepy. All of them are along the lines of "we know who you are, where you are, and WE OWN YOUR STUFF." The URL goes straight to their advertising campaign webpage, where they have kindly posted all of the spots, probably thinking they are funny, rather than threatening and creepy.Read more »
