SEATTLE — Two heroes who pulled a woman from the wreckage of a mangled car after she crashed off Interstate 90 left the scene before anyone could thank them, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported. "Because the runoff is really high and fast she actually wound up upside down in that ravine," Triplett said. Supporters take full control of GOP in North Star State
Presidential candidate Ron Paul swept the board at the Minnesota State convention this past weekend, winning 12 of the 13 delegates to the Republican National Convention and effectively taking complete control of the party in the state.
Congressman Paul would have won all of the open delegate slots, for the fact that the 13th went to former presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, only after a Paul supporter withdrew his name from the ballot.Read more »
Jury nullification, a legal concept that dates back to 17th century England, remains perfectly lawful in the United States, according to a ruling by a federal judge last month.
U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood said 80-year-old Julian Heicklin, who was arrested by FBI agents for passing out pamphlets marked "Jury Info" from an organization known as the Fully Informed Jury Association to an undercover agent, was within his legal rights under law to do so. Prosecutors had argued that Heicklin was in violation of U.S. law, which prohibits influencing jurors through written communication.
The coup began when convention delegates voted "None Of The Above" over entrenched officers seeking re-election as LP Chair. When the position was opened to nominations from the floor and after multiple rounds of rancorous voting, emerging victorious were Lee Wrights for Vice Chair and Geoff Neale for Chair (endorsed by Wrights and Mary Ruwart). The rout continued for other LNC positions, with several longtime conservative operatives thrown out.
