Restrictions on cold, allergy drugs hurt the sick

"You know the war on drugs has gone too far when politicians keep ratcheting up restrictions on cold and allergy medications in order to prevent kitchen drug labs from buying pills and converting them into methamphetamine.

In 2005, Congress passed a law requiring consumers to show a driver's license or other ID in order to purchase Sudafed and 14 other over-the-counter cold and allergy medications. The buyer must register in a logbook."

Ontario Judge Rules Canada's Marijuana Laws Unconstitutional

CANNABIS CULTURE - In a case with wide-ranging implications, an Ontario Superior Court judge struck down Canada's laws prohibiting the possession and production of marijuana on Tuesday, giving the federal government 90 days to fix the country's medical marijuana program before the ruling comes into effect and effectively legalizes cannabis.

S. F. Pot case tossed as video contradicts police

From the SF Chronicle: Charges against a man for marijuana possession were dropped after a videotape of the bust contradicted the police's story. The police alleged the man consented to a search and properly identified themselves as police. The videotape showed otherwise and the charges were dismissed.
