Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation Friday requiring trial judges to tell jurors that existing bans on conducting their own research about the case, or talking to outsiders about it, applies to electronic and wireless communication. Violations by jury members will be punishable by up to six months in jail for criminal contempt.Read more »
The new law would require anyone who drives a tractor to get a Commercial Drivers License. If a CDL was required the cost for food will increase dramatically. During times such as harvest farmers need to work long hours to get crops harvested before they spoil in the fields. A Swedish man who was arrested after trying to split atoms in his kitchen said Wednesday he was only doing it as a hobby. The 31-year-old Handl said he had tried for months to set up a nuclear reactor at home and kept a blog about his experiments, describing how he created a small meltdown on his stove. Only later did he realize it might not be legal and sent a question to Sweden's Radiation Authority, which answered by sending the police.Read more »
