Why is the GOP Establishment so scared of a Ron Paul nomination? Romney has it in the bag, Dr. Paul doesn't have a hope in hell. The conventional wisdom is they want to present the party 100% behind Romney. Gee, would acknowledging there was some competition for the job be that damaging? By sabotaging the Paul campaign throughout the process they exposed themselves as corrupt.
