Architect of Honduras Free Cities withdraws, lack of transparency

Posted September 28th, 2012 by stuntmantdave

Honduras “private cites”, “model cities”, “REDS”, “Charter Cities”!!! How many names can they be given? One thing is for sure, they are at the risk of dying before they get started. Especially since Paul Romer, the architect behind the project engineered to attract foreign investments, has withdrawn due to what he claims is a lack of transparency. But then again, the investment group “MKG”, (or is it really “MGK” now that they actually had to scramble and change their name after being wrongly associated with fraud, due to a case of mistaken identity?) also dropped the ball.

This On-Demand Car Repair Site Could Disrupt the Existing Model

Posted September 14th, 2012 by kelvin

A new car service called YourMechanic is taking aim at the old school repair shop. Its strategy is a disruptive peer-to-peer model, which lets drivers research and book appointments with mechanics online without having to go through shop owners. Rather than fill out a form and wait for help, car owners simply tell YourMechanic what's wrong, describe the year, make, and model of their car, and then provide their contact info.

Domino’s Fined by 'Orwell Olympics' for Five Pizzas on a Table

Posted July 25th, 2012 by snowdog2012

...a brand enforcer for the Olympic Deliverance Committee was on the top deck of a bus when he spotted the illegally arranged pizzas. “Under the Olympic Symbol Protection Act 1995 we have fined Dominoes for attempting to suggest a link between their business and the games by leaving out a number of pizzas on a counter that had a striking similarity to the Olympic rings logo.” Dominos denies the charges, and claim the pizzas were merely ‘waiting to be put in boxes’ a few moments before delivery.

Way back when America was free - The Bisbee Deportation of 1917

Posted June 13th, 2012 by phonon

Back in the good old days, 1917 to be exact. America was the land of the free, especially out West, where government was light and people lived on a voluntary basis. When workers got fed up with poor conditions and lousy pay for dangerous work, they would strike. The bosses would be forced to listen, or maybe they'd just hire new workers. The Bisbee Deportation was just an aberration and not a sign of the times. Right?

Great video about why the Ron Paul is shaping the future: Ron Paul conceding he won’t be president and Rand Paul supporting the presumptive GOP nominee are but trivial anecdotes to the obvious and ongoing success of the most transformative political movement of our time: The rEVOLution. I’m more excited right now about our political future than at any other time in my life. Still, some people aren’t connecting all the dots. Please watch, contemplate and share. This movement moves forward. To Tampa and beyond:

Finally, private protection agencies with legal authority

Posted October 14th, 2011 by phonon

FINALLY and thanks to Rudy Giuliani, private security can be purchased that has the full authority of the law. There are still a few details that separate this arrangement from truly voluntarist protection organizations. The officer is indemnified by the taxpayer, not the customer or the customer's insurance. They do have the ability to arrest, though, so it's close.

A Libertarian Program for Urban Renewal

Posted September 30th, 2011 by mrtruth

A set of proposals to improve one area of American society that desperately needs it: the inner city. There’s no need to recite the gory statistics on incomes, unemployment, poor schools, violence, fractured families, African-American men in jail — or the challenge that folks in these core urban areas face in extracting themselves from that mess. Here then is my three-point libertarian program for urban renewal.
