A state trooper has been arrested after allegedly taking jewelry from a person who died in a motorcycle crash in September. Trooper Aaron Huntsman, 43, an 18-year veteran of the state police, faces two counts of third-degree larceny. He is also charged with interfering with police and tampering with evidence. While Gregory Sciance was locked inside the Hamilton County Jail for a probation violation, Sgt. Wanda Smith was out buying groceries with his food stamps. Due to lax security in the state's welfare program and lax morals on the part of Ms. Smith, she was able to unlock Sciance's EBT card and make several purchases totaling over $300. Now that Sciance is free from jail, the only place he can afford to eat is at the community soup kitchen.Read more »
A police officer who wrote a $2,500 ticket to a mother on a public urination complaint against her 3-year-old son has been fired, City Manager Jim Crosby said Tuesday. Crosby said he fired officer Ken Qualls on Friday, following a hearing Nov. 14.
Prosecutors at the Canadian County district attorney's office declined to pursue the case against the mother, Crosby said.

Joshua Messier had a good life that was turned upside down by the onset of schizophrenia, then ended at the age of 23 at the hands of correction officers at Bridgewater State Hospital. The hospital is run by the state prison system, and is home to the most violent mentally ill people in Massachusetts.
Officers while restraining Josh, suffocated him literally to his death. His death certificate says cause of death, is "cardiopulmonary arrest during physical restraint". The manner of death is ruled a homicide. The officers involved have been cleared of any wrongdoing.Read more »

OMAHA, NE -- A man walked his dog along the sidewalk and came a little too close to some peace officers. The peace officers tackled the man, and then shot his dog in the head. He was charged with obstructing justice and resisting arrest.
The dog was a friendly labrador/golden retriever mix, was on a leash, and showed no aggression. The neighbor who recorded the incident said, “The dog did nothing aggressive. I've lived next to this dog two and a half years and it’s one of the best dogs.”Read more »
