A report of a wandering alligator in the woods is what lead Independence Police officers to shoot at a concrete lawn ornament over the weekend, according to a statement released by police this week.
Rick Sheridan was working in his garage when he heard gunshots, and said he found officers lined up on the bank, shooting at the large reptile. "The officer fired two rounds, and killed my concrete, ornamental alligator," Sheridan said.Read more »

The residents of Carmel, Indiana could be forced to no longer have their private refuse company remove their waste. And if history has a way of repeating itself, it will more than likely pass with the baffoons they have sitting at the helm. The 'illustrious' city council wants to impose an Ordinance that allows the City to select a trash removal company and tack on the fee on the sewer/water bill of the residents. "He was intoxicated," said the teen. "I smelled a ton of alcohol off of him. He was drunk."
The teen says that officer was barefoot and only wearing a bathing suit as the man barged through and broke his family's front door. Pifer says the officer assaulted him and threatened his sister until a neighbor stepped in to help.
The neighbor asked the officer what triggered the chase as she bandaged his bleeding hand.
