Folly beach is the only Beach in SC that still allows open alcohol consumption. For the past two years - at least - the various bureaucrats have been trying desperately to come up with a good excuse to justify another ban. They'll get their way and alcohol will be banned on Folly Beach, but most people around here seem to know that the kops went there looking for a fight.

The Food and Drug Administration is preparing to ban caffeinated alcohol drinks, which it has been reviewing the drinks since last year. Sen. Chuck Schumer (NY) wrote the FDA will rule that caffeine is an unsafe additive to alcoholic beverages, effectively banning them from the U.S. market.
"Let these rulings serve as a warning to anyone who tried to peddle dangerous and toxic brews to our children. Do it and we will shut you down," wrote Schumer.Read more »
