red tape in America is no laughing matter. The problem is not the rules that are self-evidently absurd. It is the ones that sound reasonable on their own but impose a huge burden collectively. America is meant to be the home of laissez-faire. Unlike Europeans, whose lives have long been circumscribed by meddling governments and diktats from Brussels, Americans are supposed to be free to choose, for better or for worse. Yet for some time America has been straying from this ideal.

Woman Not Allowed Through Security Because Of No Female TSA Agents

A Denver woman claims she couldn’t board a flight from Wyoming to Denver because of her gender. She said she checked in and arrived at security about 35 minutes before the scheduled departure of her United flight. “They asked if I was on the flight to Denver, I said yes, they said that they couldn`t screen me because they sent all the female TSA agents home,” Winning said. A female agent was necessary because of the new security pat-downs. Winning missed her flight and wound up renting a car for $165 and driving the roughly 350 miles back to Denver.

Free beach yoga classes? Where's our cut?

Seven days a week you can find hundreds of people doing yoga on Venice Beach. There's no sign-up and no charge. Now Sarasota County officials say some regulation may be needed, and that's not sitting well with many of the yoga enthusiasts. Both county officials and Larsen met Tuesday morning. Afterwards, the county told ABC 7 they support yoga on the beach, however Larsen may soon start having to pay them at $13.50 per hour, which in return will guarantee her the space there.

Tardiness Leads to Charges for Students' Parents

Mark Denicore and his wife appeared in court in Loudoun County Monday morning for allegedly failing to get their three children to school on time. According to Loudoun County Public Schools, between one and 30 minutes late is tardy. The Denicore children have been tardy at least 30 times this year alone -- almost one out of every three days, according to Wayde Byard, of the school district. It falls under the state’s truancy code. The Denicores’ trial date is March 14. The violation is a Class 3 misdemeanor.

FBI Warns Threat of Anti-Government "Extremists"

Sovereign citizens getting put on lists.
Opposing taxation, supporting the gold-standard, and opposing regulations makes you an "extremist" according to the FBI.

"The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard."

"Sovereign members often express particular outrage at tax collection, putting Internal Revenue Service employees at risk."

La. Lawmaker Seeks to Ban Wearing Pajamas in Public

Caddo Parish District 3 Commissioner Michael Williams said after seeing a group of young men at a local Walmart wearing pajama pants that revealed one young man's private parts, he decided to push for an ordinance that would prohibit wearing pajama pants in public. "Pajamas are designed to be worn in the bedroom at night," Williams said. "If you can't (wear pajamas) at the Boardwalk or courthouse, why are you going to do it in a restaurant or in public? Today it's pajamas," Williams said. "Tomorrow it's underwear. Where does it stop?"

New Zealand Rejects Names it Doesn't Like for Newborns

The New Zealand department which registers births, recently released a list of disallowed names from the past decade. While no names are banned outright, they can't be more than 100 characters long, use an unearned title or be offensive to the general public. They also have to be actual words, not numbers or symbols. Some of the rejected names: Justice, Princess, King, Bishop, Lucifer, Messiah, Christ, Mafia No Fear, Anal, V8, and the symbol *. Somehow, Violence, Chardonnay and Number 16 Bus Shelter did get by the registry.
