Calling B.S. on the Idea of 'Marijuana Addiction'

http://ad.vu

It's laughable that the Feds are pushing the concept of pot addiction when science shows that withdrawal symptoms from caffeine are far worse.

Cannabis is so addictive

pete1071 4 years 2 weeks 5 days 38 min ago

Personal experience from the past 29 years of my life has taught me that cannabis most certainly IS addictive to a portion of the population. I have battled with cannabis addiction off and on for decades. Currently, I haven't smoked it in more than 2 years, but when I do smoke pot, I have an extremely tough time stopping. I will smoke it all waking hours. I will sell off personal items to buy it. I will neglect responsibilities. Getting stoned becomes my number one priority when I am active in my addiction. Nobody can tell me Marijuana is not addictive, especially not some narrow minded scientists who have no clue what addiction really is. There are withdrawal symptoms. Especially for someone who smokes an ounce a week to themselves. The detox is mild, but lasts for a month. Hot & cold flashes, insomnia, anxiety. It may not be as much as other things like alcohol or nicotine, but there are withdrawals none the less. More so than caffeine. Most folks may be able to take it or leave it. But there is a small portion of the population who does become addicted to cannabis. Still have doubts? Check out marijuana Anonymous ( http://www.marijuana-anonymous.org ) If there is a meeting near you, go ask the folks there. Non addicts with questions are welcome at most meetings.

They have to have a reason to

They have to have a reason to keep the prohibition alive. What better way than to say it's addictive? I'm not positive, but I believe that the government is making money off the prohibition somehow. If cannabis was addictive, I'm sure that the prohibition on pot would be lifted so that R.J. Reynolds and Philip Moris USA could make a larger profit that their cigarettes already do.
