The businesses were completely legal under California law, and Davies's lawyers, accountant, and other employees quoted in the article confirm this. This is more explicit evidence that the President says one thing regarding states' rights to regulate marijuana, but the Justice Department (the US Attorney prosecuting the case is a 2009 Obama appointee) continues to prosecute operators who fully comply with state laws.
