Playwrite David Mamet (American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Spanish Prisoner) wrote this op-ed for the Village Voice to christen the 2008 election season. For those unaware of Mamet, he is notoriously liberal.
Here's the "nutgraf": "And I realized that the time had come for me to avow my participation in that America in which I chose to live, and that that country was not a schoolroom teaching values, but a marketplace."
This is the aspect of free market economics that seems to be the hardest for stringent liberals to get and it was trumpeted in the Village Voice...by David Mamet. Kind of a big deal; I'm not sure how I missed this one.
