An investigation into Miami police officers’ on-duty conduct found six officers were ignoring 911 calls while instead kissing their girlfriends, shopping, and drinking coffee. One 911 call involved an unconscious five-month-old baby. Video footage shows Miami police officer Dario Socarras ignoring dispatch orders to save the child, while drinking coffee for nine minutes and lying to the dispatcher about being “en route”.Paramedics eventually reached the unconscious child, while Socarras never went – but still, the officer wrote in his daily report that he attended the scene.
One 12-year-old Las Vegas boy has become a viral video hero after reminding a thirsty police officer he's not above the law. The young man, who identifies himself as Jeremy in the video, springs into action when he sees a motorcycle cop park illegally on the sidewalk. The officer was apparently going to buy a soft drink.
A video featuring many celebrities has been produced in which they all pledge to do something positive for mankind/the planet/the world/the president. Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers) pledges to "be of service to President Obama", and Demi Moore ends the video with, "I pledge to be a servant to our president". Whoa, pretty scary stuff! Some of you may have seen that video of the NYPD arresting a man for heckling a cyclist as he got a ticket and decided to meekly keep your mouth shut when witnessing police action.
