The attorney for a Florida man who shot at a car of teens over the weekend, killing one, says the incident bears no resemblance to the Trayvon Martin case. Her client, Michael Dunn, is no "vigilante" but did feel threatened and shot out of "self defense," the attorney said. "There are no comparisons to the Trayvon Martin situation," said Robin Lemonidis, Dunn's attorney. "He is devastated and horrified by the death of the teen." NEW YORK — A New York City teenager has been arrested on a felony charge in the death of a younger sibling's hamster.
The 19-year-old is accused of choking and squeezing the 4-ounce hamster and throwing it on the floor. It was then thrown across the street, though a necropsy concluded the animal was probably already dead by the time that happened.Read more »
The incident began about 11 p.m. Wednesday when seven members of the Washington County Special Response team stopped a car on a residential street in Cottage Grove.
Investigators say Clausen got out and refused to follow orders from the officers, four of whom opened fire. They're not saying yet if he had a weapon or threatened the officers. He died at the scene.Read more »
